(More customer reviews)My husband ordered this glider as a gift for me based on the hundreds of great reviews he read about it on other sites selling the same glider. The one that we received was in very poor condition. I question if this is a fluke and we just received a bad one based on all of the praiseworthy reviews we read. Our glider arrived missing several holes that should have been pre-drilled in the wood for the screws. This made it impossible to fully assemble the chair. Also, part of the ottoman had a big chip in the white wood where you could see the wood beneath the paint. The paint was applied very thinly as if they only applied a first coat when a second was very obviously needed. It was splotchy in parts and there were many areas where the wood underneath the white paint was very visible. There were also black streaks of something that looked like grease stains on several parts of the wood. I suspect they were not careful when they applied grease to the area that glides and it stained the white wood. I will add that the shipping/packaging of the glider was good. These issues were not a result of poor handling. I will be returning this item and trying one more time to reorder. As stated, this glider received very good reviews on other sites and I am hopeful that we just received one that slipped through the cracks during product inspection.

(More customer reviews)This chair, which we received about a month ago, really seemed to fit my needs as a breastfeeding mother. I was impressed by the look, the comfort and the rocking action -- that is, until the squeaking began. For no apparent reason, it now squeaks as I rock. Not what a tired parent wants want trying to rock a baby to sleep at 4 am. I have yet to try the WD-40; I'm hoping this will help, although it sounds like the wood itself is squeaking, so I am not optimistic. We'll see ...
Incidentally, there is *just* enough room for me to use a Boppy breastfeeding pillow with this chair, but only with assistance from someone else who can stuff the pillow down around my midriff. (For reference, I'm 5'7" and 145 lbs.) Not possible, in other words, when I'm home alone with baby or feeding her during the night; the fit is just too tight for me to balance a hungry baby in one arm and maneuver the Boppy with the other. I have yet to find any glider that provides ample room for using a Boppy, though.

Reagan Locking Glider Rocker with Ottoman and Side Table Review

Pros: It was very easy to assemble and arrived in perfect condition; I put it together myself in about 30 minutes. The main time consumer was having to screw in all the screws. The cushions and wood are good quality; the chair is sturdy,rocks quietly and easily locks into six positions, as described. I'm 5'7 and there is plenty of width to rock my two-year old "baby-style." The table is also sturdy and attractive; we are using it in the living room. Cons: this fabric can not be cleaned with water, according to the directions with it. I either misread or missed this fact in the product description. If I had known that, I never would have purchased this chair-that is just an unrealistic expectation with a toddler and infant using a chair on a daily basis. Also, this chair has very firm cushions and no lumbar or neck support-the lines on the cushions in the picture are a bit deceptive, becuase the cushion is basically flat. Right now, a pillow is necessary behind my neck and back to be comfortable.(I am 33 weeks pregnant, so that may be a contributing factor-we'll see.) Next, the entire chair "reclines": not just the back. The six positions provide minimal movement-similar to an airplane seat. Finally, the ottoman does not lock. I knew that it didn't when I purchased it, but it is a bit more annoying than I thought when I am sitting in the locked position. The ottoman also seems too low for all but the rocking position. I would not recommend or purchase this product again becuase of the comfort factor.

The quality seemed alright but it wasn't very comfortable as it is a very upright sitting chair. It was too high for me to rest my head on and the fabric was hard so my head couldn't just sink into the back. It was too narrow for my husband and the fabric on the side didn't cover very much so I worried about a baby's head hitting the side. Needless to say it went back to Amazon, I paid a little more and got a higher end rocker that reclined and was way more comfortable and worth it.

5' Cedar Porch Glider, Amish Crafted Review

(More customer reviews)The glider was delivered quickly and was very easy to assemble. My wife and I put it together in less than one hour working at a leisurly pace. The only minor issue was that it uses eight screws and the screws provided are square drive rather than phillips drive. I didn't have a square drive but I had some similar size screws in the garage so I made the switch. Otherwise all you need is a couple of wrenches and maybe a hammer for tapping things together.
The wood was fairly smooth on the flat surfaces but the edges were a little rough. I thought about sanding the glider but decided against it. All we did was coat it with water seal. I suppose it would be a bit nicer if sanded but it works for us.
My wife and I are both hefty so I was a little concerned about the capacity of the glider. In fact I purposely bought a wood glider for ease of repair if it broke down. We have only used it a little but it seems like it is going to be strong enough to hold us (500 pounds total).
All in all I am pleased with the product.

(More customer reviews)My expectations for this glider weren't all that high, considering we purchased it for a fairly low price, but I was still disappointed. The main issue is that the construction of the bottom where the swivel/glider mechanism attaches is very poor, so when you sit in the chair it leans forward and to the left (even if you make a point to lean back and right as you sit). It also is so low to the ground that it doesn't let you glide very far. The chair also seems to be made with a cheap foam filling that probably won't hold up to heavy usage, though we are returning it so I won't be testing that out. It looks nice, but if you are actually planning to sit in it regularly I wouldn't recommend this chair.

You don't need to put out much effort to rock in the glider and the foot stool makes it even easier to glide. The chair arrived sooner than I thought and the chair was not damaged and the color of the wood was very true to what the picute indicates. It took 30 minutes to put it together - we had an issue with the arm cushions ;). I would highly recommend this chair for anyone who is looking for a glider for his or her nursery. The only down sides to the chair are the seat is not wide enough to fit you, the baby, and a boppy pillow comfortably (for those moms who will brest feed); the cream colored cushions are getting dirty faster than I thought, and if you are sitting close to the edge of the seat DO NOT LEAN FORWARD!! I made the mistake of leaning forward - my little one and I went overboard! Other than that, the chair meets all of my requirements and I would tell others to buy this chair. Especially at the price - you can't beat it. You don't need to pay top dollar to get top quality.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this glider to go in our 2 month old daughter's nursery and I'm sure glad we did! The fabric is a light beige/tan microfiber and the glider and ottoman both glide very smoothly. We have not had to deal with any squeaking so far and the fabric is very soft and easy to clean. The only complaints that I have about it is that when it was delivered, it was packaged very well, but the white paint on the gider itself has a few noticeable marks on it. Luckily they are mostly all covered by the cushions but still, if you are buying something brand new, you would expect the finish to be immaculate. Other than that, its a great product for the price and we are very happy with our purchase thus far.

(More customer reviews)I just got this put together. The first thing I noticed and aspect I can't get rid of is the smell. The varnish or stain used on the wood is overwhelming. I hope it is not dangerous or harmful. There are no instructions for assembly and left over parts. There is nothing in the packaging or on the product that states "Dutailier." The only thing that says Dutailier is the box, which makes me wonder if this is a knock off. I will be calling Dutailier Monday to verify. It is gliding quietly but the ottoman feels like it is going to fall apart. I have to run, the smell is making me dizzy.

When this was shipped to my house, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was as nice as it was. It was SO easy to put together (I did it myself in about 15 minutes) and it's super comfy! I am expecting my first baby in about 4 weeks, but I do sit in the glider all the time. My husband wants to put it in the family room once the baby is too old for it :) I highly recommend this product!

(More customer reviews)I bought this glider and have loved it and used it pretty frequently; at least once a day. I weigh about 150 lbs. and one day, when my son was about 6 months old (so the glider was about 8 mos. old), I was sitting in it and I heard a pop. The springs under the seat pad are poorly constructed and held on by very small, cheap, easily bent staples. I can't believe this glider would have held up under anyone weighing close to 200 lbs. or more, because my husband nailed some sturdier nails to hold the spring in place and a few weeks later, another one popped. And so on. Now, the springs that he has fixed are popping out because of a very bad design and shabby engineering. (My husband is an engineer, so he knows!) Anyway, while I love the chair and the look and it's very comfy and a good price, it doesn't do much good unless you're prepared to rig something and to constantly deal with it breaking while you're sitting in it.
